Because September is Alopecia Awareness Month, to help spread awareness, we presented one of our younger Butterflies with a FREE Custom Hair Replacement Unit, compliments of Hairline Illusions- Egypt Lawson, that was designed and created just for her! This hair replacement is considered a Custom HD Hair Replacement because it required measurements and color coding to match her complexion in addition to texture selection to match her original curly locks. The hair density was also adjusted to mimic the density of a child. This is what we mean when we say that we don't provide a one size fits all hair replacement. Every client is different and receives individualized attention. Units like this can run between $2500-$5500 each. At Butterflies BBI, they are Free Of Charge! The units are hand made and do not require glue or tape because the cap is created to hug the head, giving the child more freedom to run and play like all kids do. It can also be styled in any style because there are no wefts to get in the way. It actually looks like it's growing from her head! Kids with hair loss have enough to deal with so their appearance shouldn't be added to that list. That's why we put in the extra effort to assure our clients that they get high quality, age appropriate hair replacements that are similar to the look that they had before their hair loss so that appearance isn't a concern.

In recognition of Alopecia Awareness Month, on Sunday 9/10/2017, we took a group combined of Butterflies, hair donors, volunteers and Butterfly supporters to a New York Fashion Week Fashion Show at Jack Studios NYC. This great outing included transportation to and from the event, VIP front row tickets and dining.
Our annual event falls under the Pink Butterflies program which focuses on self esteem and self worth. It's important to know that no matter what, "You are Beautiful " and we're here to remind you of that, every step of the way, whether you are a donor or a recipient. We like to encourage our girls to reach for the stars!!! 🦋
